How to join the Atlanta EDC

Membership Information

The mission of the Greater Atlanta Synagogue Education Directors’ Council is to provide a collegial forum for education directors to work together as a kehilah to foster learning for our diverse institutions, families, teachers and children.

Revenue to cover EDC sponsored professional development opportunities and general administrative costs is derived from membership fees paid annual by all member congregations and funding from Federation. Membership dues are based on the following fee structure:

# of Students                    Dues*

*Congregations unable to afford established membership dues, please contact the EDC chairs.

Membership status for affiliated organizations is not allowed. Interested organizations would be handled on an individual case basis.

Participating members of the EDC agreed to incorporate a set of staffing guidelines known as the Brit M’chanchim, ratified on February 8, 2007, when making staffing decisions for the upcoming school year. It may also be shared with synagogue clergy/professional staff. Committee members are to have their teachers read and sign the Brit M’chanchim yearly.
